Headteacher's Welcome

Situated close to the town centre inlovely part of Bedford, our over-subscribed and popular school is one in which ambition and care for each of our pupils is at the heart of everything we do.

Castle Newnham's traditional values mean that our expectation every day is of diligence, participation, good behaviour and good manners. We value hard work and commitment to learning throughout the school which pays off in the high standards reached. Our forward-looking approach is seen in our openness to embrace change and to keep up with the latest research and thinking in education. We are now developing all-through education for our community from 4-16 with our partners at Castle and Hazeldene.  Our first Year 9 cohort will start in September 2017 and we are very excited about the development of high-quality education to GCSE.  We never stand still in our quest to secure a fantastic school experience and a bright future for each of our pupils.

Traditional Values, forward thinking, bright futures, one journey

We hope this website will give you a flavour of the wide and growing range of opportunities for our pupils. Our staff are a committed, energetic and dedicated team and our pupils are a source of great pride in their enthusiasm, courtesy and care for others. We encourage strong links with families, with our local partners and increasingly, with international partners.  We are very proud of our status as a regional hub for languages and of our Arts Mark silver award as well as our Gold Quality Mark from UCL for staff development and training and our Achievement for All Quality Mark.  We provide training for teachers as a lead school for the School Direct programme with the University of Bedfordshire.

Visitors are always welcome and we encourage you to get in touch if you would like to come and see our brilliant school in action or if you would like to enquire about a place for your son or daughter.
